Ohio Dressage Society's Down Centerline 3 & 4 a Success
The Ohio Dressage Society (ODS) Down Centerline 3 & 4 show August 4-6 at Brave Horse featured 125 horses showing all levels of dressage competition from USDF Intro through the FEI and Olympic Grand Prix levels. Competitors hailed from Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, and Maine, as well as from all over Ohio, to experience dressage at Brave Horse on a gorgeous Ohio summer weekend. Judges were from California (two), Colorado, and Kentucky.
There were 100+ qualifying tests over the weekend and many qualifying scores were earned at the show, allowing those competitors to advance to the USDF Region 2 Championships to be held in September. Breed awards were presented from 14 different breed societies as well as many high point and other prizes. Thirty different organizations provided generous sponsorship of the show and there was great support provided by dressage community volunteers, helping to make it one of the best shows hosted by the ODS.
"We cannot say enough good things about Brave Horse and what an incredible asset it is to the Central Ohio equestrian community," said Kathy Rizzoni, Vice President of the Ohio Dressage Society. "The staff, stabling, footing and overall venue are simply top notch and we are so lucky to have this exceptional facility in our neck of the woods!"
The ODS-hosted competitor party during the musical freestyles on Saturday was another highlight of the weekend. Riders, trainers and spectators socialized and enjoyed refreshments and flavorful hors d'oeuvres catered by Taproot Catering and sponsored by Bella Vista Equine Veterinary Services, Continental Realty, Mid-State Fluid Transfer Products, Milestone Farm, and Rivercrest Farm.
Brave Horse was pleased to receive some extraordinarily positive feedback from ODS riders and trainers, summed up best by Kathy Rizzoni. "Brave Horse offers well-designed stabling, perfect footing that stands up to Ohio weather, and beautiful grounds. We cannot wait to see how our Down Centerline show series continues to grow at this wonderful new venue," Rizzoni concluded.
